Bethel Park High School alumna Vanessa Ovesney won first place in the 2D Art category at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh's Ralph Munn Creative Writing and Teen Media Awards for her painting "Dreamscape." Her work and other winning entries will be on display at the Main Library in Oakland through September 2024.

Bethel Park native Mason Miller made history at the 2024 MLB All-Star Game by recording a 103.6-mph pitch, the hardest ever thrown in the event since pitch tracking began in 2008. He had a perfect 12-pitch inning, striking out stars like Shohei Ohtani and Trea Turner. Miller earned the win as the American League defeated the National League 5-3, becoming the third rookie pitcher to do so. After overcoming Type 1 diabetes, Miller’s career soared, leading the league in strikeouts and fastball velocity by the all-star break. Drafted by the Oakland A's in 2021, he has become one of MLB's top relievers.

Ryan Petras, a standout athlete from Bethel Park, earned multiple postseason accolades, including being named the Trib HSSN Class 5A Baseball Player of the Year for his exceptional performance in 2024. As a junior shortstop, he hit .452 with 20 stolen bases and played stellar defense with a .973 fielding percentage. Known for his leadership and academic excellence, Petras also excelled in football, leading the team in receiving yards and touchdowns. Committed to Northwestern for baseball, he has drawn offers in multiple sports due to his athleticism. Petras' contributions were key to Bethel Park’s successful season, earning him first-team all-section honors in both baseball and football.

The Bethel Park School Board has approved a final general fund operating budget of $110.4 million for the 2024-2025 school year.
