Two Bethel Park High School juniors are leading the first-ever partnership between the municipality and DECA to promote the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, now scheduled for 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Bethel Park Community Center, with hopes of boosting attendance to around 500. The expanded, free event will feature a holiday market, family activities, character appearances, live music, and refreshments as part of a broader effort to enhance community engagement.

Bethel Park High School has named senior Boyd Alspach its November 2025 Rotary Student of the Month for his academic excellence, leadership, and service, highlighted by completing an Eagle Scout project that raised $1,350 to support the school’s Caring Closet. A well-rounded student with a 3.9 weighted GPA, Alspach is active in music, Scouting, and community service, and plans to pursue a career in pharmaceuticals.

Nominations for the Bethel Park High School Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame are due by Dec. 17, 2025, recognizing graduates whose achievements and service have made a significant impact in their fields or communities. Submissions may be mailed to the BPHS Distinguished Alumni Search Committee or emailed to Principal Racquel Sutton.

Winter Sports Season Tryout Information.

As winter approaches, Bethel Park School District urges families to update their contact information to receive timely weather-related alerts via Focus, ParentSquare, social media, and local news. In severe weather, the district may hold Remote Learning Days on a modified two-hour delay schedule, with students expected to complete assignments and notify teachers of any connectivity issues.

Crumbl Cookies recently announced its October 2025 Students of the Month. The honorees receive a certificate acknowledging their contribution to their school and community and a Bethel Park t-shirt. They also receive a $15 gift card and a free cookie from Crumbl Cookies.

Bethel Park High School’s fall play, "CLUE," based on the cult classic film and beloved board game, will be held Nov. 5-8 at 7 p.m. The show, which costs $5 to attend, promises a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud mystery full of twists and surprises.

Following Superintendent Dr. James Walsh’s announcement that he will retire at the end of the 2025–2026 school year, the Bethel Park Board of School Directors has launched a search for his successor, led by solicitor Rebecca Heaton Hall of Weiss Burkardt Kramer LLC. The process will include community engagement through surveys and a public forum to help shape the next superintendent’s leadership profile, with further details to be announced in the coming weeks.

Bethel Park High School senior Caroline Zelt has been named the October 2025 Rotary Student of the Month for outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and service. A 4.605 GPA student, award-winning scholar, and active volunteer, Zelt is recognized for her academic excellence, dedication to community, and commitment to the arts and leadership.
