Bethel Park High School inducts 12 students into Quill & Scroll Honor Society

Bethel Park High School on Thursday inducted 11 student journalists into the Quill & Scroll International Honorary Society for High School Journalists during a ceremony held May 28, 2026, at 3 p.m. in the school's LGI Room.
 
Quill & Scroll was founded April 10, 1926, at the University of Iowa by pollster George H. Gallup and a group of high school advisers to encourage and recognize individual student achievement in journalism and academics. The organization marks its 100th anniversary this year.
 
Bethel Park High School established its chapter in 1947.
 
The ceremony included a welcome, recognition of current members, presentation of honors, advisors' remarks, the traditional "Light of Truth" candle lighting, induction of new members, and presentation of membership pins.

The chapter is advised by Ms. Kristen Kincak of Vernissage Literary Magazine and Mr. John Allemang of Hawk Eye Newspaper and Beacon Yearbook. Mr. Brad Kszastowski, advisor for Black Hawk TV and Media Productions, was not in attendance at Thursday's ceremony.

Current members recognized at the ceremony included Kyleigh Baux, Ryder Barger, Elizabeth Corrins, Leah Frank, Joanna Little, Alaina McKain, Cadence Miller, Emily O'Connell, Makayla O'Neill, Jacob Pitoniak, Camren Reynolds, Patrick Romito, Ashlyn Schmidt, and John Steffes.
