Bethel Park High School senior Sara Impellicceiri has been named the Bethel Park Rotary Club's March 2025 Student of the Month in recognition of her academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to inclusion initiatives.
The daughter of Gary and Angie Impellicceiri and sister to Emma (Grade 12), Sara maintains an impressive weighted GPA of 4.1 while actively participating in various extracurricular activities. She has not made a final college decision yet but is still considering attending High Point University (NC), Wake Forest University (NC), and Emory University (GA). She plans to major in business before attending law school.
A standout in DECA, a high school business association that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management through competitions, conferences, and real-world experiences, Sara serves as the PA DECA State Officer, District III Representative, representing 10 schools across Western Pennsylvania at the state and national levels. She helped organize this year’s District III conference at Duquesne University. Sara also serves on PA DECA’s Community Outreach Committee, securing donations from local businesses to support the Boys and Girls Club of America.
“My favorite part about DECA is preparing for a future career and learning what I do and don’t like,” Sara said. “I’ve learned that I really enjoy the marketing and advertising side of business. I wouldn’t have known that without DECA.”
Sara acknowledges a common misconception about DECA: it only benefits students pursuing business careers. “DECA can help you in any career,” she said.
Outside of school, Sara works as a host and to-go specialist at Bonefish Grill at South Hills Village. She is also completing two internships — one with Britney Hollick, a local State Farm agent, and another with the Bethel Park Community Foundation as a member of the Board of Trustees, where she helps evaluate grant requests.
Sara credits her success in DECA and her leadership roles to the connections she’s made. “Talking to people in your event is key — nobody knows what you’re going through better than them,” she said.
Sara’s impressive blend of academic success, leadership, and community involvement makes her a well-deserving recipient of this honor.
